Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe. People of all ages can be involved in this simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ.
Our goal this year is 200 boxes -- we will be having a Box Packing Party on November 9th. Why are we starting so early? We would like to take advantage of a lot of the back-to-school sales that are going on during August and September, plus it gives us a chance to have everything organized and ready to go when we have our Packing Party.
Here is how YOU can participate:
1. You can make up a shoebox (or two...). Print up a label and a suggested shopping list and have fun! This is a wonderful project to do with your family -- you can even include a small letter/photo for the child who will receive the box. Print up a coloring page for your little ones to include, too.
2. You can do some shopping and bring your items in any time between now and November 2nd. We will happily store it for you until the packing party.
3. Make a donation in any amount toward items that we will use to pack the boxes with. Please be sure to designate on the check or on the envelope "Shoebox" and we will use every last penny for this project!
CCDB will be taking care of the donation costs per box (there is a $7 per box fee that Samaritan's Purse uses for covering shipping costs and other expense). You can also pay for your own box if you would like.

Please note that we do not have the printed boxes this year -- we suggest that you use a small plastic shoebox to pack your items (a 6qt shoebox seems to be the ideal size).
There are also opportunities for service -- we need people to help us organize supplies, help us prepare for the packing party, etc. Please see Virginia or Melody for more information.

Keep checking back for updates on what items we need (we will try to put up an organized checklist). If you have any other questions, please email us.
